“It’s spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you’ve got it, you want—oh, you don’t quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!”
― Mark Twain

I’m feeling freed by the presence of warmer weather!  The children and I were outside all morning, and it was delicious.  I tried to get some more of the sticks raked from the tree that came down last fall, managing to get about 20 minutes of work in.

We watched a bumblebee lumber along the wood mulch, raising its middle legs.  My sons decided to follow its lead, saying “I can do that too!” while reaching their hands toward the sun.  Recognizing this as a sign of distress, we left the bee to pump its abdomen in preparation for flight.

I also had the extreme pleasure of hanging clothes and the bed linens out on the clothesline today.  I love hanging laundry outside.  The sweet smell of spring that accompanies them back indoors fills me with delight.  We are recovering from yet another bout of the flu and it feels good to involve the sun in our healing process.

I’m feeling a surge of energy – ready to stretch myself like the garlic we planted last fall.  I have been waiting, abated, all winter, and now feel motivated…but for what is the question.
